A cappella club poses for group picture in the gym foyer after performing at the girls’ pink out volleyball game on Oct. 29.

A cappella club held its first meeting to begin practicing with its seven new members. The club existed for years but had not yet gained much exposure.

“In the beginning, [the club] used to be very big, but then the past few years, it was pretty dead,” said a cappella club president Jessica Estrada. “No one really knew about us, so my goal is to revive it through getting publicity at sports events.”

The 14 members learned the National Anthem and Un Poco Loco to perform at upcoming events.

”We’re just trying to get involved in more school events so that people know we exist,” said Jessica.

A cappella club plans to perform at both the winter and spring sports assemblies and International Night on Nov. 19 at the school. They performed at the girls volleyball pink out game on Oct. 29.

“I’ve been doing music since elementary school, so when I saw the auditions, I was like, ‘Oh I can do that. That sounds fun,” said new member Angelina Slater.
