Ocean Lakes Junior Luke Lamkin drives the ball up the court past First Colonial sophomore Nate Schmit(left) and Junior Miles Harris(right) sending the game into overtime.

With a new coach, the boys’ basketball team began to participate in summer league, where they compete against other Virginia Beach teams. Ocean Lakes, losing five seniors and coming from a 1-21 season record last year, look for another way to improve.

On Monday, Luke Lamkin drove the ball down the court to make a buzzer beater floater to tie the game. Which sent the dolphins into over-time against First Colonial. Double over-time ended in a tie which sent them to a sudden death. First Colonial made a layup off the jump ball ending the game in their favor.

With a tough loss, the Dolphins play the Knights at Kellam on Monday.
