Gymnastics anticipates another successful season

With no formal tryouts except for one skill day, gymnastics coach Jennifer Ramey picked her team last week. This year’s team captains include seniors Jessica Harris and Deanna Chey.  Because the team expanded to 12, coach Ramey has more options for the events.

“Last year we had three really good seniors graduate, and this year we got five new girls: three freshmen, one junior, and one senior,” said senior Deanna Chey. “They all brought so much to the table, so we’re gonna have another great season.”

The team is learning new skills and working on routines.

“Ramey is getting us ready for our first meet. Some of the girls are learning new things, so we can have higher start values,” said Deanna.

Coach Ramey anticipates another successful year for her gymnasts.

“I’m very excited about my team this year. We have seven returners and five new gymnasts,” said Ramey. “We have been working hard over the last few weeks and are looking forward to having another successful season.”
