Boys lacrosse defeated Kempsville 20-4 in their first game of the season at home on March 3. The team played a strong game with multiple defensive stops and offensive scores.

Notable players include sophomore Kaden Beatty with four goals, senior Alec Smith, sophomore Will Shattuck, and freshman Aiden Duprey each with three goals. Additionally, junior Michael Suh and sophomore Liam Murphy both scored two goals, sophomore Ian Jones and freshman Ethan Locke scored one each, and junior Max Keller had five saves as goalie.

“We played a great game as a team, and we had very good communication,” said junior Max Keller. “Our defense definitely helped to keep us on top and get the ball to the offense so that we could win our first game of the season.”

On March 10, the team will face-off against the First Colonial Patriots at home.

“Going into the game, I knew we were the better team and that we just had to do what we worked on in practice if we wanted to come out with the win. Everyone on the team did their part,” said junior Josh Wells. “We showed up tonight with great offense and defense. Overall, we had a great game, and I’m pumped for the season!”
