One year has passed since the tragic Virginia Beach shooting. On May 31, 2019, Virginia Beach lost 12 innocent lives in a mass shooting at the Virginia Beach Municipal Center. To honor them and four other victims, the city recently created its own version of a flower that symbolizes remembrance and love. The flower features elements representing all 17 victims.

“It’s 4:06 p.m. That was the time on May 31, 2019, when the attack at the Virginia Beach Municipal Center started that claimed 12 lives and forever changed countless others. Take a moment of silence with us as we remember the victims,” stated 13newsnow on Instagram.

An important tribute goes out to Laquita Brown, Ryan Cox, Tara Gallagher, Mary Gayle, Alexander Gusev, Joshua Hardy, Michelle “Missy” Langer, Richard Nettleton, Katherine Lusich Nixon, Christopher Rapp, Herbert “Bert” Snelling, and Robert “Bobby” Williams, all who lost lives because of this tragedy.
