The cross country team triumphed at the cross country meet at Kellam High School on Wed. Oct 13, 2021.

“Our team did well,” said senior Noah Winslow. “We consistently amounted to the top three competing schools.”

The boys’ team placed first, and the girls’ team placed in the top three.

“It kind of seesaw’d for first place,” said Noah. “Except with the girls, Aniya Mosley constantly annihilated everybody.”

The meet was the day of senior night as well.

“For it being my last year of high school is sad and confusing,” said Noah. “It still feels like junior year, and I’m going to have to leave my friends for college…it’s been a hard four years, but these two seasons have been awesome.”

Underclassmen on the team recognize that this year’s seniors leave a special legacy behind.

“I will miss how encouraging and willing they all are to be there for every single one of their teammates– to help them strive,” said freshman Riley Gomez.
