Four out of 11 students became semi-finalists for the National Merit Scholarship. In order to qualify as a semifinalist, students must get a score of 1400 out of 1520.
“National Merit Finalists achieved a top 1% score on the PSAT,” said principal Dr. Claire Leblanc.
Ralph Sun, Reehan Siraj, William Scheib, and Roark Corson are the Ocean Lakes semi-finalists.
“It just feels great to receive this prestigious national recognition,” said Ralph Sun, “I self-studied to do well on the PSAT and taking a rigorous course load also helped me.”
