Marching Band places third at State Championship

Marching Band competes to win a title at Liberty University on Nov. 6.

The Marching Band competed at State Championships on Sat., Nov. 6. and competed against other schools to win. They were divided into three groups at Liberty University.

Ocean Lakes placed third in their group, with a total score of 90.3, and placed eighth in the competition overall, out of more than 20 schools. The top three schools at the end of the competition were James Madison High School, Princess Anne High School, and Thomas Jefferson High School. 

“This Saturday’s performance was the culmination of over 300 hours of hard work, personal sacrifices, and love the students have for each other and the marching arts,” said Michael Parker, band adviser.
