Senior Aniya Mosley has done it again. She broke yet another one of her 1K school records on the track, with a time of 2:49 at the Virginia Showcase Invitational on Jan. 15.

With one of the fastest times in Virginia History and now ranked third in the country, Aniya rushes in the new year with multiple records.

In recognition of her success, Aniya has been named this year’s recipient of the Tidewater Striders High School Cross Country Runner of the Year. This event will take place at the Tidewater Striders Awards Banquet at 6 p.m. on Feb. 5. at the Norfolk Yacht and Country Club.

“Aniya Mosley is usually so serious and straight-faced when she races, even when she wins. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her finish with emotion on her face until today,”  said Mary Ann Magnant, free-lance photographer for Milestat.com and former parent of three cross country runners.
