Girls soccer made it past the first round of this spring’s Regionals, an achievement that they were unable to fulfill last year.

Junior Emily Box played a through ball to junior Shantelle Viel, and she was able to bang it top corner to secure the victory over Grassfield.

“Our team has mixed feelings about this upcoming semi-final game. We faced Cosby in the quarter-finals last year and lost in overtime with a long ride home. No doubt this is an opportunity for revenge, especially with our seniors who have come back from college to watch us play the last few games,” said Ava Baker. “We are playing for them and our current seniors Kabria and Ellie. I truly believe we have a shot at winning this game as both teams are talented; it’s going to come down to who wants it more.”

Their next regional game is Tues., May 31, against the Cosby Titans. The Dolphins suffered a defeat against the Titans last year in overtime at their first regional game.
