Ocean Lakes varsity field hockey has started the season off strong and so far managed to achieve a 4-1 record.

The team is relatively new with two new varsity coaches. Head coach, Jordan Barbee, and assistant coach, Caleb Thornton.

“Our team has gotten really close and improved in many ways such as endurance wise and stick skills,” said senior Sydney Schneider.

The Dolphins just recently had a comfortable victory over Kempsville scoring three goals, however they were unable to defeat Cox in their last game. Their next game is Tuesday, Sep. 27 at home against rivals Kellam.

“I can see our team going pretty far! I expect us to make it to the playoffs, play hard, get goals and most importantly have fun,” said Sydney.
