Marching Band is back in action for the 2022-23 school year.  After weeks of summer band camp, it is finally time for the band to perform.

“I am definitely excited to showcase our new show to our fellow students and other schools,” said senior field lieutenant Camryn Rozier.

The marching band recently won first place for their 3A class at their last competition.

“The biggest strengths I think we have this year are the percussion players, the drum majors, and the great staff,” said senior bass player, Aiden Allen. The band will be at the Tidewater Regional event at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex on Oct.15, 2022,  as well as the VBMC State Championships at Liberty University on Nov. 5, 2022.

“Some of our biggest goals this year are to have the number one percussion and band in the state,” said Aiden.

Big goals have helped the band adjust to new leadership with a new band director this year.

“I’m not really looking to make any new changes this year, I just want to make this the best season for the seniors,” said band director Katelyn Proffitt.
