Academy seniors take on gallery night
January 26, 2023
Gallery night premieres academy senior projects and offers them the opportunity to present their project to friends and family before their final presentations in March.
“I’m looking into the role horseshoe crabs play in vaccine production and how the biomedical industry puts a strain on their population,” said senior Emma Bakshi.
Each senior decides on a project topic, as early as freshman year, which will fit their interests and future goals. Before they start to research their project, they choose whether it’s capstone or research, complete background research and write a literature review. Capstone students also shadow someone in the summer and create a project; however, both options must make a paper, poster and website.
“Finally seeing all of my hard work come together is extremely rewarding. I’m excited to finally be able to share my experimental results and spread awareness about music therapy to others,” said senior Rachel Dizon.
Senior gallery night was held on Jan. 25, 2023, from 5:30-7 p.m. on Academic Street.
“I plan to study neuroscience or cognitive science in college, this project really gave me a head start on the basics of those fields of study,” said senior Nathaniel Bushey.
