“I am really excited about leaving for a surgical program in India. Operation Smile has been a part of my life since I first joined the club program in sixth grade. So far, I have been able to go to Panama and Miami with Operation Smile, and it has all been working towards this trip. In India, I will be helping out around the hospital with whatever needs to get done. This includes decorating the hospital, organizing paperwork, comforting children about to enter surgery and more.  We are also teaching about general health and first aid like washing hands, brushing teeth, treating burns, and how to stay properly hydrated/nourished in the hospital and an orphanage. Our goal, apart from giving free surgeries, is to have a lasting effect on the community through health education and awareness.”
