Boys and girls outdoor track made their second debut of the 2023 season at Tallwood High School. April 5 was a day of many personal records and school records competing against Princess Anne, Cox, Kempsville and Tallwood.
“Last Tallwood meet went pretty well for most of our runners considering it was about 90 degrees outside,” said senior Dylan Evans.
Multiple runners and relays placed top three contributing to Ocean Lake’s overall points. Rhea Barnes, Lindsay Meadows, Lauren Rakov, Ashley Chapman, Sophia Richardson and Riley Gomez placed in the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, 400-meter dash, 800-meter run and 1600-meter run.
In addition, Brody Lewis, Lambert Edigin, Nick Pham, Preston Haney, Roman Chapman, Logan Hamilton and Robert Wetherholt placed top three in the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, 800-meter run, 1600-meter run and the 3200-meter run.
The next track meet will take place on April 19, 2023, at Landstown against First Colonial, Kellam, Bayside and Landstown.
“We had a pretty good amount of PRs for our boys and we should improve even more next meet when it will be cooler outside,” said Dylan.
