Varsity baseball travels to Charleston, S.C., in hopes of bringing home a win.

They faced top-ranked talent from around the nation. Their first game against Providence High School, from Charlotte, NC, resulted in a 4-0 loss despite the effort to persevere. Providence was ranked No. 2 in the country during the 2022-2023 season.

After the prior defeat, Dolphins overcame adversity and beat Hickory Grove High School, also from Charlotte, NC, with a score of 4-1.

Peter Philips significantly contributed to the team’s victory, pitching seven innings with five strikeouts.

Ending the trip with a hard-fought loss in game 3, Dolphins came in short against Marvin Ridge High School from Waxhaw, NC.

“The trip was great, and the baseball was okay, because of the injuries we were forced to overcome,¨ said baseball coach Peter Zell.  “The guys stayed in a great beach house and bonded together as a team in order to fuel up and prepare for the second half of the season.¨
