With the conclusion of fall sports, VHSL winter sports begin. These sports include boys and girls basketball, wrestling, swim and dive, boys and girls indoor track, gymnastics, indoor cheer, Scholastic Bowl, and the fall musical by the theater company.
Last year, winter sports, such as gymnastics went to states, girls basketball went to the state tournament, and girls swim won conference.
The first winter VHSL sports team to compete was Scholastic Bowl at Floyd E. Kellam High School on November 6. The second sport to compete is JV basketball at Floyd E. Kellam. A full schedule of winter sports events is found at beachdistrictva.org.
