In commemoration of American activist Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Cox hosted the 16th annual African American Male Summit.

The summit took place on Saturday, Jan 20, 2024. Throughout the summit, over 600 students engaged in breakout sessions focused on academic excellence, team building, and leadership development. Participants were exposed to historically black universities such as Norfolk State University, Virginia State University, Hampton University, and more. Students also explored alternate options after graduation. 

“I enjoyed that all African Americans were brought together,” said junior Zeke Chinwike. “I also enjoyed that we were able to spend time together to learn about our culture and heritage.”
