Ocean Lakes Spikeball Club originated in 2019 with a goal to “grow the spikeball community and be part of the high school spikeball league [that upcoming] spring,” according to an alumnus Spikeball club member.
Spikeball is a team sport played with two teams of two players. The main goal is to hit the ball off the net without the opposing team returning it.
Ocean Lakes Spikeball Club typically meets on Wednesdays in Room 160.
“As the sponsor, I really enjoy the camaraderie within the club. Everyone has fun and is willing to partner with anyone else,” said AP Psychology teacher Mark Moore.
Fast forward to today, the club has an upcoming spikeball tournament on August 20, 2024, at 2 p.m., at Redwing Park. There is a $5 entry fee and cash prizes.
