Homecoming week this year is “Tangled” with the dance preceding both the spirit week and the football game.
From Oct. 21 to Oct. 25, 2024, a spirit week took place with themes, including Athletes vs. Mathletes, Cradles vs. Cranes, Soccer Mom vs. Barbecue Dad, Country vs. Country Club and concluding with “I Love OL” Day.
The homecoming dance took place on Oct. 19, 2024, from 7-10 p.m. in the gym. Tickets sold out, with over 750 students, guests and faculty in attendance.
With a theme following the 2010 Disney musical movie, “Tangled,” the gym was decorated by SCA with lanterns, balloon trees and balloon arches.
Differing from tradition, the homecoming king and queen were not announced at the dance; they will be revealed at the homecoming game versus Landstown High School on Oct. 25, 2024, held at Ocean Lakes High School.
“Walking into homecoming was like entering another world,” junior Kierston Haney said. “All the lights and decorations really made it feel special.”
