Callie Harroun earned a second place finish in “Serious Dramatic Interpretation” at the recent forensics super regional competition, getting her a spot in the state tournament.
“We get the word forensics from the ancient Greeks… today, to you, forensics means competing in speaking, acting and dramatic reading. You can do a speech, a news show, a skit, storytelling or simply read a passage or poem,” according to Green Lake School District.
At Ocean Lakes, the word “forensics” has now been replaced with “speech,” and apparently, Callie is good at it.
“Callie Harroun competed against the top six dramatic interpretation performers in the AB region. Her dedication to practice and her ability to interpret her piece led her to a second-place award which will send her to the state competition on March 29, 2025, in Salem, Virginia,” speech coach Kim Bedinger said.
