
Indoor track faced off at the New Balance Nationals in Boston, Ma. Qualified athletes were given an opportunity to compete from March 13 to March 16, 2025.
Freshmen Fenton Million, Carmen Johnson, Nathen Varghese and Isaac Richardson, junior Quinton Suber and seniors Brody Lewis, Devin McGill and ZayQuan Renolds represented Ocean Lakes at the meet.
“My goal heading into this competition was to break the school record or to make all-American,” freshman Carmen Johnson said.
Carmen was ranked third in the nation among freshmen girls in the 500-meter dash (1:15.90) and 13th in the 400-meter dash (58.78).
Isaac Richardson was ranked 15th among freshmen boys in the 800-meter run (2:02.35). Fenton Million was ranked 24th in the 800-meter dash (2:03.61) and 21st in the 1600-meter run (4:32:28). Nathen Varghese was ranked 44th in the 800-meter race (2:05.53).
In addition, Quinton, Brody, Devin and Zayquan placed 31st in the Boys 4×200 Relay Championship.
“Getting to be part of such a big exciting competition as a freshman was a blessing, and I hope I’ll return again next year,” freshman Fenton Million said.
