Girls soccer rolls into their season by participating in an overnight lock-in at Ocean Lakes. This event took place on the night of March 14, 2025 in the gymnasium.
The combination of food, drinks and games allowed a way for the players to grow connections with each other.
“The lock-in brought people together by doing activities out of their comfort zones in order to grow and learn more about each other,” freshman Emory Harrington said.
To add on to the activities, the athletes played manhunt, scavenger hunts and competed in a futsal tournament. Each team was arranged randomly to encourage them to get to know each other.
Around 30 people attended, which provided the opportunity to expand social skills with the same people they will be playing with throughout the season.
“We did it with both our varsity and junior varsity teams so that they can do stuff with each other,” junior varsity coach Caleb Thornton said. “Even though they technically are on two different teams, they are all part of the same program and are all working towards the same things.”
