As the spring season begins, senior softball players Olivia Cirillo and Gracie Wilson lead in the design of new softball uniforms.
After about six years, softball received new and improved uniforms. The uniforms feature blue pinstripes, which Olivia states are inspired by college teams. As a senior and four-year softball team player, she expressed how she and the team wanted a uniform that was newer and more in style.
The concept of athletes designing uniforms is becoming more popular among teams this year. Along with softball, track, soccer and the new sideline cheer team uniforms were designed by athletes of each team.
“Teams should let their athletes help design uniforms because, at the end of the day, it is the athletes wearing them and not the coaches,” Olivia said.
