After two weeks of campaigns and speeches, the class officers for each grade level have emerged.
In a rather rare move, members of the class of 2026 re-elected their incumbent officers to the same positions: president Kaydyn Ismail, vice president Connor Mais, secretary Alicia Han, treasurer Santina Martcheva and historian Pratik Patel.
“We will have the same exact executive board next year as this year, so I plan on capitalizing on the momentum we have built this year to carry on for an amazing senior year,” Kaydyn, a member of the soccer team, said. “I have currently developed a year plan for next year with events scheduled for each month. I also plan to organize our cabinet into five subcommittees, with one of our officers heading each one. This will allow us to best organize our time and reach maximum efficiency for all of the events, activities, and tasks at hand.”
Connor, a member of the baseball team and Spanish Honor Society, agrees with Kaydyn’s outlook and emphasizes ending their high school careers on a positive note.
“I plan to raise money so we can have a great senior prom,” Connor said. “I also hope to bring our class together through various fundraisers and events to have an awesome final year of high school.”
Meanwhile, the class of 2027 officers slightly changed. Stone Wagner, a member of the wrestling team and the Dolphin Dash Student Crew, was elected president, with Naima Khan as vice president, incumbent Eric Lin as secretary, Nidhi Aleti as treasurer and Kamie Santos returning as historian.
“I decided to run for a class officer position as I genuinely care about making our high school years the most memorable, productive and inclusive as they can be,” Stone said. “I wanted to be a voice for our class and take real action to improve not only school spirit, but school communication and participation as well.”
In terms of ring dance, Stone could not disclose certain details but promised it would “be an absolute blast.”
The class of 2028 opted to designate only four positions for office, foregoing the role of historian. Seth Bangsal won the presidency, and Dang Vo, Teagan Hilbert and Kyle Dong were elected to the positions of vice president, secretary and treasurer, respectively.
“I decided to run for secretary specifically because I knew I wanted to help our class succeed, but I did not want to stress out myself too much with being president,” Teagan said. “I hope to keep our class organized and make information not only accessible to all, but easier and clearer to understand.”
