At this year’s senior awards ceremony, six students were recognized as Dynamic Dolphins.
The Dynamic Dolphin award is one of the highest honors awarded at Ocean Lakes High School.
For students to receive this award, they must be nominated by a teacher and selected by a committee of faculty and staff.
The six students that were selected for their excellence in academics, service to school and community, sportsmanship, and character were Andrew Herr, Tajyhia Manuel, Isabella Ragasa, David Suiter, Eleanor Strader and Noah Xiong.
“These students’ leadership, integrity and commitment to others have made a lasting impression on the Ocean Lakes community,” Principal Claire LeBlanc said.
The presenters for each of these students were Amy Jo Harrell, Yvaal Hampton, Andrea Smolin, Amber Moore, Kristi Bayer and Mike Mosley.
Through Isabella Ragasa’s time as Operation Smile Club President, she was recognized by resource teacher Andrea Smolin.
“This superb dolphin exemplifies a strong and well-grounded work ethic, coupled with quiet confidence,” Smolin said.
These newly awarded students will continue to go on and do great things within their communities in the future.
“I am very grateful for this award and for Mrs. Moore, and I aspire to make an impact in college like I did here as a Dolphin,” senior David Suiter said.
