From graduation gowns to a group meet up, the Class of 2015 is soon to make their reunion on Oct. 18, 2025 at the New Realm Brewing Co.
“You feel like it’s so far away, but then it’s ten years later in a blink of an eye,” senior class president Gabrielle Rauch said.
Rauch wanted to hold a reunion five years after graduation, but the pandemic struck in 2020, hindering its schedule date. Their long-awaited reunion, rescheduled five years later, is officially taking place. Tickets cost $39.19 and can be bought on their ticket page. Attendees may bring plus ones, but they also need to purchase a ticket to attend.
“At the beginning of the year, I started to get some messages [on if we would do a reunion],” Rauch said. “I know, coming from Ocean Lakes, people moved all over the country, so I wanted to see how many people could we bring together for an event like this.”
After sending out surveys on multiple platforms to gauge how many alumni would be interested in attending the event, Rauch decided that a larger venue would best accommodate these numbers. New Realm Brewing Co. was chosen for its proximity to the school, food, open atmosphere and accessibility to outdoor activities.
“When you’re in high school, you’re so ready to move onto the next thing,” Rauch said. “You don’t realize until you leave that space how special [the experience] was.”
Guests such as former Class of 2015 adviser Leslie Samuelson showed interest in attending the reunion.
“Time passes quickly,” former Class of 2015 adviser Leslie Samuelson said. “This is my 25th year here at Ocean Lakes, so time is definitely flying.”
For class officers who plan to have their class reunion in the future, Rauch emphasizes delegation and to focus on an end goal. For future class advisors, Samuelson encourages teachers to stay organized and ask for clarification as many times as needed.
“Class reunions should be a celebration of growth. I can’t wait to see how far everyone has come five years from now [for our reunion],” alumna and senior Class of 2025 president Gillian Gutierrez said.
