Wednesday night marked the third loss of the 2018 varsity field hockey team. The game ended in overtime with a final score of 1-2 in favor of Kellam.

The first half of the game resulted in one point scored by Ocean Lakes, followed by Kellam’s first point towards the end of the second half.

“When we scored the first point, we could tell they were starting to get frustrated. Even though we scored, we knew they could come back and score a goal,” said junior Ryan Sherman.

Kellam scored ten minutes into overtime ending the game with a loss for Ocean Lakes.  Despite their loss, some varsity players feel confident in the team’s performance.

“We played amazing, the best so far in the season. We didn’t do anything to lose; Kellam just got a lucky shot in overtime,” said senior and team captain Caroline Hampton.

With eight games left in the season, time for the team to win more games still remains.
“I’m very optimistic for the rest of the season, and I can’t wait to see how we do,” said Caroline.
