Math and Science Academy senior Sara Burtner presented her senior capstone project about Kinesiology in dance, inspired by a 13-year passion.

She shadowed Ashley deLalla at the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughter over the summer and saw more than three patients daily.

“Something I noticed throughout my mentorship was the importance of sport-specific therapy,” said senior Sara Burtner.

As a final product, she created an Instagram page @dancept_seniorproject to post videos and photos of exercises, stretches, and technique advice in relation to dance.

“I was able to give advice on how to reduce injury and target a young audience,” said Sara.
