For the first time in three years, the varsity field hockey team walked away victorious against the Knights this week.
Their third game of the season, located at the Regional Training Center, ended in a score of 1-0, leaving the team with a 2-1 record. The goal, scored by senior Kaitlyn McMahon and assisted by junior Kelly McCarty, occurred in the first 11 minutes of the game.
“This year we knew we had to keep our cool and stay focused and act like it was still a 0-0 game,” said senior Ryan Sherman.
Apart from the cool-headed approach, the girls also focused on their teamwork throughout the game.
“We worked together as a unit the whole time, which was what made the game so great,” said Ryan.
Varsity field hockey will take on Landstown for their next game on Sept. 12.
