Ocean Lakes participated in National Signing Day by hosting its own signing day ceremony. A total of 17 student-athletes were recognized for committing to different colleges on Feb. 5 in the library.

Principal Dr. Claire Le Blanc started the ceremony by giving a speech, followed by social studies teacher Morgan Latimer, who swam for Virginia Tech. The seniors then signed and were given an opportunity to say “thank you” to coaches or parents.

“Playing sports in college is a privilege and a honor,” said Latimer. “Never take it for granted.”
