Cross country team sets the bar high for states

Regional runners Lindsay Meadows, Maggie Reed, Austin Heft, Aniya Mosely, Elise Richardson, Sophia Pommerick, and Ryan Smith celebrate their regional win at Bells Mill Park on Nov. 6.

The boys and girls cross country teams competed for a regional title on Nov. 6 at Bells Mill Park. The boys placed 3rd with a score of 83, and the girls placed 1st with a score of 25. 

According to Mike Nestor, senior Aniya Mosely claimed a second region XC championship win with a time of 18.40.10. The girls will advance to States for the 17th year in a row, and the boys will advance to States for the 5th year in a row. 

States will take place on Nov. 13 at Great Meadows, Warrenton, with girls state championship at 10:30 a.m. and boys at 11:15 a.m. Tickets can be purchased online through Go Fan
