Senior Aniya Mosely stands in first place at the Liberty Premier Invitational on Sat., Jan. 9.

Another productive week for boys and girls long-distance track as they leave the Liberty Premier Invitational with a new school record and champion, not to mention several PR’s.

The Liberty Premier Invitational took place on Sat., Jan. 8. at Liberty University in Lynchburg, V.A., and it hosted indoor track teams from all over the country but not necessarily every state in the U.S.

Senior and Ohio State commit, Aniya Mosely, recently broke the girl’s 300 school record with a time of 40.9 seconds and placed third in the U.S. For more details, check out Milestat.com.

“16.5 hours, 421 miles to Liberty and back, five new PR’s, one champion, eight burritos and lots of laughs,” said long-distance track coach Mike Nestor about the race.

The next indoor track meet is held locally, Tues., Jan. 11, at the Virginia Beach Sports Center; field events begin at 2 p.m., and running events begin at 4 p.m. The next big invitational is the VA Showcase and will be held on Jan. 14, and 15.
