Karey Sitzler’s chamber orchestra class performs in the lobby of Chrysler Hall before a performance by the Virginia Symphony on Feb. 11, 2022.

In the lobby of Chrysler Hall, this year’s symphony was selected to perform before the Virginia Symphony Concert as part of their “Showcase” series on Feb. 11.

“They were stellar,” said orchestra teacher Karey Sitzler.

Twenty-five students from Sitzler’s 2B chamber orchestra class got the opportunity to showcase their talent in front of symphony patrons prior to the concert. In addition, orchestra classes have a pre-assessment concert on Feb. 17 to give all the parents a chance to hear the assessment music before their competition in front of judges at Cox High School on March 3-5, 2022.

“I am so very proud of our students always, but this time, we drew quite a crowd of appreciative symphony patrons who were amazed by them,” said Sitzler.
