The Ocean Lakes band and colorguard team traveled to James Madison University the weekend of Oct. 21 and 22 to receive second place for the AAAA division and first in colorguard.
Band and guard members left Saturday morning and did not get back until early Sunday morning, Oct. 22.
“My favorite part of the trip was being on that field, led by Romeo because he is a senior and one of my good friends,” said junior percussionist Lyric Bruner.
Band and guard members feel they performed well, and it payed off with a high score from the judges.
“Overall it was a good run,” said senior guard captain Paige Zuchristian. “It can never be perfect, but everyone really performed and put their hearts into it.”
