As students begin applying to colleges, tuition costs play a role in the application process. For this reason, Ocean Lakes High School Access adviser, Adria Phillips, holds scholarship workshops for upperclassmen. 

These workshops have been held once a month, for over nine years, to help students navigate through the financial processes of going to college. 

“I believe that every student should be able to go to college for the most minimal cost possible, no matter the family’s income level,” said Phillips.

Each workshop consists of browsing new scholarship websites, making accounts to be eligible for scholarships and getting any questions answered firsthand by Phillips.

“Let’s face it, we all have stressors, we are human and I can bring just a bit of relief and some joy to our students,” said Phillips. “I am willing to help with career, college, financial aid and scholarships.”
