Farewell, Mr. Williams

John Williams walks with Yolanda Boothe to lead the “I am Somebody” speech at the winter all-school assembly on Dec. 16, 2022 in the gymnasium.

Student Activities Coordinator John Williams retires after 28 years of serving the Ocean Lakes community. Williams administered and oversaw all student-involved activities since the school opened.

Williams ensures every student, athlete, coach and faculty member is making a positive impact on the school as well as continuing to be the best person they can be. He meets with every student-athlete before the beginning of each season in order to motivate them to become great competitors who show exemplary sportsmanship.

Williams runs a program that helps students in need gain access to necessities that cannot be accessed over the weekend. This program is called “Beach Bags” and it provides food to children not only at Ocean Lakes High School, but also Ocean Lakes Elementary. Following his retirement, AVID will continue the “Beach Bag” program.

¨Im very sad to leave many great friends,¨ said Williams.
