President Joe Biden landed in Virginia Beach, VA, on Feb. 28, 2023, to address affordable healthcare.

His speech took place in the Kempsville Recreation Center and suggested that Congressional Republicans would raise health care costs, and it also addressed the hard work and love he has for nurses.

“If there are any angels in Heaven, they are all nurses, male and female,” said Biden.

Biden mentioned the time his son Beau Biden spent in the hospital, post-Iraq tour.

“For 18 months he fought, and the nurses and the docs were incredible…[they] knew enough to know that it wasn’t the time,” said Biden. “[Nurses are] so underestimated.”

The President’s speech was appreciated, drawing much applause. The president also acknowledged the city’s large military population and its importance to the nation.

“It’s great to be back in Virginia Beach, home of many brave women and men who serve our Armed Forces and make this nation so strong,” said Biden.
