Finsgiving brings students and clubs together with food, board games and karaoke. The event was held from 3-5 p.m. on Nov. 20, 2024, with around 125 students and 12 clubs present.
This year, foods like sushi, pumpkin pie, rotisserie chicken, sugar cookies and mashed potatoes filled the platters.
Senior Thomas Dillard organized the event, taking inspiration from last year’s Finsgiving, organized by Anna Brown.
“It was honestly [initially] kind of stressful, ” Thomas said. “This was the first event that I had ever planned.”
Despite the initial worries, he later stated that the event was a grand success.
Students were encouraged to socialize and spend time with fellow dolphins.
“My favorite part of the event is being able to eat great food with all my friends being here at the same table with me,” sophomore Van Helgren said.
Finsgiving provided students an opportunity to enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday in the company of their peers and teachers.
“I think it is an important tradition because some kids can’t afford to have a Thanksgiving, so it is good to have one at school where kids can actually enjoy it,“ sophomore Semaj Walley said.
