Dolphin Dash Student Crew (DDSC) organized their annual Winter Carnival on Jan. 17, 2025. The event was held in the cafeteria from 5:30-7:30 p.m., with a $5 entry fee.
The carnival serves as an opportunity for clubs to gain exposure and raise money for the chosen cause.
The proceeds from this year’s carnival are donated to Connect with a Wish, an organization that provides support to foster care children.
“Our hope is to continue this tradition that we started prior to the COVID-19 pandemic and continue to raise money for our charity,” DDSC sponsor Shirley Hall said.
At this year’s fundraiser, clubs like Class of 2025 and 2026 were in attendance, and in addition to the games, the SCA hosted a bingo game with a $1 entry fee in the teacher’s lounge located in the back of the cafeteria.
“In SCA we are very dedicated to working together with the DDSC and the community outreach who handles the event,” senior and SCA executive board member Tajyhia Manuel said.
In previous years, the event broke fundraising records when the DDSC and SCA partnered with Operation Smile Club in 2019 to raise over $350 in ticket and food sales.
“The event went incredibly well and had great turnout and support,” senior and executive board member of the SCA Sawyer Adams said.
