The Triple E Fair took place on Feb. 27, 2025, at Green Run High School, and enabled students to explore their options before they head out of high school.
Colleges, recruiters and employers speak with students during the fair regarding their post-graduate options.
“I love the fact that it is a diverse group of people, allowing students to explore their options deeper,” Program Specialist Adria Phillips said.
Generally, students choose between three options after graduating high school: enroll in college, enlist in the military or employ, hence the title of the fair, “Triple E.”
“Being able to have all three options right there I feel is very helpful for students,” Ocean Lakes High School counselor Sarah White said.
To attend, students are required to fill out a Google Form expressing whether they are interested in enrollment, enlistment or employment. If students are interested in employment, it is recommended to bring a resume. If students are interested in enrolling in college they must have already applied to a college or university school and request for their transcripts be sent to the college or university through Parchment prior to the event.
“My favorite part is the interaction. Talking to folks and offering game-changing information” Army National Guard Representative Shawn Bartz said.
The fair has a variety of options to explore the three E’s. Colleges like Tidewater Community College, Liberty University and Virginia Wesleyan will offer on-site admissions. On-site interviews will also be held by companies like Virginia Beach Sheriff’s Office, Rogers Windows and Belfor Property restoration.
“My favorite thing is the celebration station for students to celebrate with their families when they get accepted into a college or offered a job,” White said.
