Environmental students plant, make a difference
Elizabeth Schur-Badach’s 1A and 2A AP environmental classes teamed up with Lynnhaven River Now and VBCPS to fight pollution.
Throughout the year, environmental classes raised marsh grass plants to be planted on floating wetlands in the pond at the front of the school.
The floating wetlands are designed to support the plants, so they can filter pollutants from the lake such as Phosphate and Nitrate from nearby fertilizers and toxic metals from the parking lot.
