Unique to Ocean Lakes, teachers distribute Dedicated Dolphin awards at the end of each quarter to those students who show a particularly superior behavior in class.

“There were 73 teachers that participated this go-around,” said Assistant Principal Leah Nelson. “It’s just ink on paper; it can’t hurt to award hard work.”

Some teachers never miss the opportunity to reward students for their efforts with this award.

“It lets students know that their hard work, kindness, or whatever it may be that quarter hasn’t gone unnoticed,” said Physics teacher Linda Spangler.
