Creator of the club, Hannah Petty hoops at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront.

For the first time in history, a Hula-Hooping club has been formed at the school.

“This club will give students a chance to have comradery, and to do something that has never been done before. I hope they can learn new techniques, strategies, and do something fun as a group,” said Hula-Hooping club sponsor Shirley Hall.

Hannah Petty is the creator of this club.

“I started my club because I have a passion for hooping, and I want to share that feeling with others,’ said sophomore Hannah Petty. “The whole idea of hooping is self-expression, whether that be expressing your happiness or struggle.”

Sophomore and club member, Amani Cherry, feels this club will be relaxing and freeing.

“This club will bring some peace into my day, and I’d love to learn some new hooping tricks,” said Amani.
