Graduation elation, graduates receive long-awaited diplomas
Seniors graduate at Convention Center
Class of 2019 officially graduated during their commencement ceremony on Saturday, June 15.
Before graduates could walk across the Virginia Beach Convention Center stage, class President Natalie Piezrak, Valedictorian Dev Patel, and Co-Salutatorians John Wong and Keano Rich reminisced on the past four years in thoughtful, well-prepared speeches.
“It is never too late to try something new; we are only just beginning our lives,” said Natalie. “May your hats fly as high as your dreams.”
After they received their diplomas, seniors switched their tassels, certifying graduation.
“The Class of 2019 will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on Ocean Lakes,” said Principal Claire Le Blanc.
