Ocean Lakes color guard prepares for the upcoming season with frequent practice and drills.

On August 30, the color guard performs to a song by Dua Lipa on the football field in front of band parents. This performance gives the friends and family of color guard a special look at their production.

“It shows our parents how much hard work and dedication we put in during bandcamp,” said senior and co-captain Charles Haines.
In preparation for the performance, the color guard practices every Tuesday from 3:00-7:00 p.m. The ensemble focuses on flag tosses and dance technique. A few featured flag tosses in the coming show are the silk double toss, pop tosses, and a switch fix toss.

“Flag tosses give us a stronger performance value. They help create a more entertaining show as well as showcasing the talent and skill the color guard has,” said Haines.
