Symphonic band as they performed “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” in the auditorium on Dec. 13.

Band wrapped up 2018 with a holiday concert in December.

“All the groups have really come into their elements with their pieces,” said band director John Parker.

The concert had four groups in total: beginning band, percussion ensemble, symphonic band, and wind symphony.

“This concert is to commemorate the holiday of Christmas,” said junior band member Sean Campbell.

The concert had a variety of holiday-related pieces that were played by different bands, and the Symphonic Band played a few sing-along Christmas songs, such as “The First Noel” and “O Come, All Ye Faithful.”

“We play to make music, not to make mistakes,” said Parker.

His emphasis to perfect the music before the concert stems from focus.

At the end of the concert, all the bands came together to play a piece created by Vince Guaraldi called “Linus and Lucy.”

“I love holiday music, and I am always amazed by how talented our students are,” said English teacher Elizabeth Morris.
