Michael Boomer’s 1A leadership skills development class took a field trip to sing songs for the elderly.

Social studies teacher Micheal Boomer brought his leadership development class to neighborhoods in the community this week– to deliver some Christmas cheer.

Students sang songs like ‘A Holly Jolly Christmas’ and ‘Jingle Bell Rock.’

“It was a fun way to spread some holiday cheer, and it felt good to do a good deed for those who needed that extra holiday spirit,” said senior Lindsay Locke.

The students also delivered more than 20 poinsettias and caroled from 8 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

“It was also kind of sad because after we finished singing to some of them, they cried. So obviously they needed a little bit of love, and I’m glad we got to do so,” said Lindsay.
