Girls lacrosse’s inaugural season was a success with a 6-5 record. They may have lost their first game of the season, but they have won many games since, beating Great Bridge, Bayside, Cox, Tabb, Princess Anne and First Colonial.

They played their first game in York, V.A. against York on April 1, 2022, at McReynolds Athletic Complex and ended their season against York to lose the playoffs with an end score of 19-16. Despite the loss, freshman goalie, Chloe Purvis, said they had a great season.

“I saw great improvement on our defense…the game was close, but we improved from last time we played York. We have definitely gained new shooters like Riley Wright and Lauren Rakov,” said Chloe.

According to Chloe, other star players, Molly Ryan Gates, Summerlin Gates, and Riley Devlin, often brought the team to victory.

“Our varsity lacrosse team is an amazing group of girls with many returning and new players. Everyone works hard at practice allowing us to capitalize when we need it most,” said Molly.
