Girls lacrosse celebrates their win against Salem High School on April 19, 2023, at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex.

Girls lacrosse is officially a VHSL-sponsored sport.

Starting a new-found Ocean Lakes legacy successfully, the girls team is 6-1, ranked first in the Beach District and fourth in the 757. Their only loss is against No. 3 ranked Cape Henry Collegiate.

Leading the team, juniors Molly Ryan and Summerlin Gates control the pace of the game in the midfield as senior captains Riley Devlin and Britney Yang combine for qualified leadership.

Building off their recent 17-6 beach district win against First Colonial, girls lacrosse is confident to carry their success into the post-season and bring home the trophy.

¨I expect us to perform as a team during regionals. We all work well together and everyone contributes to our success,¨ said varsity coach Lauren Logan.
